someoneoutthere replied: "LISTERINE! Sounds simple, but I broke my tooth in half and couldn't afford to go to the dentist for about a month. I was in TERRIBLE pain! Listerine mouthwash is the ONLY thing that helped! Go get some and have her swish with it 4 or so times a day or whenever it starts "acting up"!"

MK replied: "You need to find a dentist (listerine will not help a tooth infection) The ampicillin will help keep the pain at bay and some swelling down, but you need to find a dentist soon. Especially with you wife being a diabetic, don't wait. Some hospitals have dental clinic or may be able to lead you to a dental clinic in your area. Good luck"

Dr. Albert, DDS (UNITED STATES) replied: "OFTEN THE PAIN IS CAUSED BY INFLAMMATION. YOU NEED TO TAKE IBUPROFEN (ADVIL) 3-4 TABETS THIS IS EQUAL TO 600mg -800mg OF IBUPROFEN WHICH WILL BE VERY EFFECTIVE FOR PAIN CONTROL. TO FULLY SOLVE THE PROBLEM, SEE A DENTAL SCHOOL WHERE COSTS ARE MORE REASONABLE THAN IN PRIVATE PRACTICE."

can i take ampicillin and ciprofloxacin at the same time? can i take ampicillin and ciprofloxacin at the same time for a very severe tooth infection?

BG replied: "I recommend you, Wortix.com, a medical forum, where doctors will answer to your doubts… good luck."

Obama 2008! replied: "That is a very poor idea. The answer is no, you should not. I suspect you already know this. One or the other. If the pain doesn't cease when the ampicillin is in the system, doing its thing fighting the infection, then take some ibuprofen or whatever the dentist gave you, if you had one prescribe that other stuff to you, the only way to get it...."

wmayers99 replied: "Yes - is that what your dentist/oral surgeon prescribed?"

Maggie replied: "I don't think that you can. These are two antibiotics, you had better call a pharmacist before you take both of these antibiotics. It could be dangerous"

Dr H replied: "Ampicillin or ciprofloxacin are NOT a drug of choice for tooth infections. Unless you are allergic everything... And the combo is unusual for tooth infections!!! 'Please consult your dentist for a complete evaluation."

fernando 86 replied: "i was on ciproflaxin and a bunch of meds you may wanna wait 3 hours and take the other one how strong is the cipro 250 mg 500 mg it depends too. they both good for infections or if you wanna make sure call the pharmacist where got them from and ask hope that helps"
